Each week I will post 1 or 2 recipes based on the items for sale at grocery stores around the county.  So check back every Monday to get some great food ideas and save so money!

Sweet and Sour Pork

Once again this is certainly not authentic, but it is delicious. Honestly, creating my own sweet and sour sauce is a big step for me. Usually for sweet and sour I buy a jarred sauce because there are a couple of good ones out there. So feel free to do that if you do not want to take the time to make this sauce.

Basic Chili

Football season has begun and then weather has started to change so I thought this was the perfect week to make chili.  Everyone seems to have their own chili recipe.   I looked through a bunch of them online and in the end, I kept my recipe pretty much the same. I have found when you keep chili basic it is delicious so there is no need to complicate it.

Spinach and Gouda Stuffed Chicken

When I was trying to come up with a recipe this week I decided to look in my fridge and see what I already had. I thought these ingredients would be delicious together, and I was right.  This is so simple to make and filled with so much flavor that it makes it a great dish for entertaining or dinner any night of the week really.

Southwestern Burger

Labor day is next weekend and may be one of the last opportunities to grill out so I wanted to come up with a fun grilling recipe.  This is definitely not your traditional burger, but it is one that will please the crowds. It would be great served with grilled corn, pasta salad, potato salad, or fries sprinkled with chili powder and cumin.

BBQ Ranch Salad

This certainly isn’t a healthy salad, but it is good and probably one you can get kids to eat. I put French fries on it. This idea may seem strange, but it is delicious and makes the salad hardier so you don’t leave the table feeling hungry. The best part about salads in my opinion is the fact that they are completely customizable to your tastes.

This recipe is for 4 salads, but it is obviously easy to just create the number you need. The amount on each ingredient is just a suggestion.
